More Glaciers

These are all Tidewater Glaciers.

I learned that glaciers are blue because the ice absorbs all the colors that exist except for blue; so, the blue reflects back to us and that's what we see.

There are 3 different kinds of glaciers. 1) Tidewater glaciers that end at the water's edge where they break off into giant slabs. When it breaks and falls into the water, it's called 'calving'. 2) Piedmont glaciers rest at the base of a mountain  and make a fan shape at the end. 3) Alpine glaciers are hanging off the slopes of mountains.  We saw mostly Tidewater Glaciers because we were in the water and so most of the glaciers ended there.
